If you are here, then you are likely among the many Ghanaians yet to register their SIM.
As already indicated by the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, this September will be the last grace period to register your SIM card. Every SIM that has not been registered by the 30th of September 2022 could be barred from using services such as voice and data.
The NCA has made it very easy to register your SIM card by yourself, using the GH SELF REG app. All you need is a smart android (version 7 and above) phone and your Ghana Card.
Follow these simple steps:
Before you start the self-registration, make sure you have your Unique Code.
You can get your unique code by dialling *404# on your smartphone and following the instructions.
Verify your unique code by dialling *400#
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE APP
Go to the google play store and download GH SELF REG APP by XCEL INC LTD.
STEP 2: ACCOUNT CREATION
Create an account or log in if you have already created an account on the app.
If you are new, click the Create Account button and enter your phone number on the Register page.
Click continue and enter your details on the Personal Details page and click continue to select gender on the Gender page.
Click Continue to enter your email address on the Email Address page and click continue to confirm your details on the Confirm Details page.
Next, create a password, confirm your password, and click continue to create and confirm your PIN.
Once you are done creating your account, go to the next step to register your SIM.
STEP 3: SIM REGISTRATION
On the SIM REGISTRATION page, scroll down to select mobile network.
Enter your phone number.
Enter your Unique Code.
Enter the number to make payment. (Your mobile money number)
Confirm you have read the disclaimer and click Next.
You will receive a message requesting payment of GHS 5.00
Click Mobile Money and confirm the payment using your mobile money pin.
Next step is to capture your Ghana Card (front and back).
On the User Verification page capture your Liveness Image with your camera and click Finish.
The next step is to Capture your left and right fingerprints.
Click Perform Scan on the Left Four Fingers option and repeat the step for the Right Four Fingers option.
Upon success proceed to the final step to enter your Digital Address and click Submit.
You will receive a message YOUR SIM CARD HAS SUCCESSFULLY BEEN REGISTERED.
